I am a licensed clinical social worker (LSCW) specializing in helping clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, and maternal mental health issues. I also work with individuals who are navigating life transitions, relationship issues, grief and loss, and other life stressors. As a social worker, I believe in dignity and respect for everyone. I welcome individuals from all walks of life and backgrounds to my practice.
I help people let go of the thoughts and habits that are unhelpful to them, accept the things they cannot change, and take steps to live the life they want to live. My treatment style is based in cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, neurobiology, and the principles of positive psychology.
I understand the stresses of the DC area; I grew up in northern Virginia and currently live in Alexandria with my family. In my free time, I like to stay active (run/hike/swim), visit friends, and do anything involving animals. (I am a huge animal lover.) Psychotherapy is my second career, and I have worked in an outpatient community mental health clinic, an outpatient addiction treatment center for adolescents, and a residential mental health setting. I earned my Master of Social Work from George Mason University and my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina.
